The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and influential training professional to join the GCS team to undertake a variety of project work. The role will be based at our Perth office working Monday to Friday for an initial project period of 6-12 months. 

Duties include:

  • Deliver training courses in accordance with the pre-determined syllabus for the course allocated, taking account of the requirements of all applicable legislation and the company’s HSEQ management system
  • Supervision of delegates throughout theoretical and practical training sessions ensuring all exercises are conducted in a competent, safe and professional manner
  • Compile and submit IRATA assessment results to IRATA to be processed at end of the course before archiving
  • Liaise with fellow instructors/assessors to provide/ensure consistent delivery, on-going support, learning and mentoring and engendering a strong team spirit and work ethic at all times
  • Undertake continuous review of revisions of legislation, ensuring that any amendments are brought to the attention of the Senior Management Team for incorporation within appropriate course syllabus material
  • To assist with bookings, social media promotion and marketing of training
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining working relationships with clients
  • Responsible for providing a professional service and attitude towards clients
  • Ability to mentor additional Instructors
  • Management and maintenance of trainings rope access equipment alongside warehouse team

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience as an IRATA Rope Access Instructor (essential)
  • Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email and presentation
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A positive attitude to dealing with people
  • Capable of hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions
  • Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks
  • Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual, as well as being able to integrate and operate as part of a team.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in the development of training materials and packages and strong technical writing skills is essential
  • Valid Australian work rights.

MANDATORY:

To be considered for this role you require the following qualifications:

 

  • IRATA “I” Instructor Qualification
  • IRATA Level 3
  • Australian recognised Senior First Aid Qualification
  • Cert IV Training and Assessing TAE
  • Construction Industry Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card)
  • Working at Heights Ticket

 
DESIRABLE:

  • EWP
  • Current Driver’s Licence - minimum of C Class (manual) required
  • Confined Space ticket
